Join my team!
At age 16, I was your typical teenage boy in high school but things started to change. I was in pain, my joints hurt and finally a year later I was officially diagnosed at age 17 with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis.
25 years later I am still fighting with my Arthritis. For me giving up was never and option and I was not going to let Arthritis win.
Because of my Arthritis I have been to hundreds of doctor's appointments, taken more pills and shots than one could count and I have even been a trial patient for drugs that are now FDA approved to help others with Arthritis. When I was 27 years old I had both of my knees replaced and 10 years later I had surgery on both my feet to help repair the damage that my Arthritis had done to my joints. 2009 has brought new challenges with my first hand surgery We started with my right hand since I am left handed and I wish I could say thing have gone smoothly but I can't. I will be back in surgery in a few months to work out the kinks and then we will do the left hand.
Having arthritis has taught me patience and has made me more determined that ever to help find a cure.
Please join me for the Salem Arthritis Walk along with hundreds of others who share the same goal a world free from arthritis pain. By joining a team and participating in your local 2009 Arthritis Walk, you will join in the movement to raise funds needed to find a cure for arthritis.
Team participation is FUN and EASY! A team is a group of people walking together to raise money to fight arthritis.
I will not give up and I hope you won't either, together we can find a cure for Arthritis.
